Omexom at SOSSI public planting day

On Sunday 14th July, the Shakespear Open Sanctuary Society Incorporated (SOSSI), one of 11 charities supported by the VINCI New Zealand Foundation, held one of four annual public tree plantings at Shakespear Regional Park.

This day saw 164 dedicated volunteers, including Omexom New Zealand staff and their families, gather for three hours with the aim of enhancing the local environment, and protecting local wildlife. Omexom is one of nine companies in New Zealand belonging to the VINCI Group.

Armed with shovels, gloves, an abundance of enthusiasm and bundled against the cold, volunteers were spread out across the designated planting area, which had been carefully prepared by the organisers in advance.

“It’s amazing to see so many people coming together for such a great cause!” said Omexom Works Planner Gayle Rubeus.  “Planting trees not only helps the environment and wildlife, but also brings our community closer.”
