Omexom continues work at Benmore HVDC

Now that’s a real Transformer!

Omexom New Zealand’s Power Services Southern (Transmission and Substations Perimeter) are undertaking the refurbishment works for Transpower this year for the Benmore HVDC site, and are about to replace all the bushings for the Hitachi transformers.

Seen here is just one of four single phase units for Pole 2 at Benmore HVDC Station at nearly 11 meteres tall, weighing 350 Tonnes, and holding 90,000L of oil.
