Omexom helps keep the wonder alive
Omexom New Zealand staff are working with The Wonder Project to help inspire and engage young minds through hands-on, curiosity-driven experiences.
Omexom partnered up with The Wonder Project to sponsor their 2025 programme. This is our way of growing the next generation of energy supply industry workers whom we need to keep the industry growing.
Research shows that to keep supporting our economy, we need at least another 2,300 engineers each year (plus we need to keep the ones we already have). In fact, 80% of future jobs in New Zealand will require STEM skills.
Just 1.8% of young people aged 7 to 13 want to be an engineer in their future career, and over the past 10 years there’s been up to a 20% reduction in students being assessed for NCEA-level science and maths subjects.
Sponsoring this initiative means providing essential resources to create workshops and programmes that keep children’s imaginations alive, sparking their curiosity and leading them on a path to a crucial and rewarding career.
Contributions directly support educational tools and materials, enabling the team to reach more kids and foster a love for learning. Learn more about how you can make a difference at Keep The Wonder Alive.
