Omexom powering up the City Rail Link

Omexom is powering up the City Rail Link! Our team has been busy wiring up the low voltage switchboard cabinets which sit inside the cross-passages mined between CRL’s twin bored tunnels.

The switchboards are manufactured and factory-tested by MGE New Zealand, and designed especially to meet the project’s needs. They’re being installed by our Infrastructure Perimeter electrical team, before going through rigorous testing before the switchboards can be commissioned.

These switchboards will supply power for general power outlets, the building management control system, communications racks, emergency phones and lighting in the tunnels. Power is fed from the stations to the tunnels and is divided into separate earthing zones to ensure an acceptable earthing equipotential is maintained.
