Omexom reaching students in South Auckland
The South Auckland Schools Career Expo took place 27th June at the Due Drop Events Centre in Wiri. The day started off with a powhiri, and schools were scheduled throughout the day, with some students returning to attend with their whanau.
Maintenance Supervisor Nico Consalves and Project Engineer Jodene Meredith from Infrastructure Large Projects unit were part of the team at the Omexom stand, enthusiastically sharing their firsthand experience and knowledge of their respective fields.
Having Nico and Jodene onsite encouraged the interested attendees to find out who we are and what we do. There were 20 local high schools with approximately 4,450 students who walked through the doors.
The attendees were very interested in the Omexom stand, the types of projects we were involved in, and they interacted keenly with our Omexom staff, especially the year 13 students and career guidance counsellors.
